SING-ALONG PIZZA PARTY  2010   $15
with Ray Templin & Rob Wright

For a brief time, decades before Karaoke, we enjoyed the experience of going out, eating pizza and singing the good old songs with a room full of strangers of all ages and having fun – together.

Shakey’s opened on the West coast, Your Father’s Mustache on the East with Red Garters, Village Inns and countless similar operations in between. At home we "sang along with Mitch" and tuned in to join the fun going on at "Mickey Finn’s" in San Diego.

With this album, Ray and Rob lovingly tip their hats to those great years of pianos, banjos and good old songs. So, invite some friends over, order some pizza and let’s sing. You’ll never have better backing than Ray Templin and Rob Wright, and if you insert this disc into your computer, all the lyrics are in a file ready to print and pass around. Have fun!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame - For Me And My Gal - Toot Toot Tootsie - Alexander's Ragtime Band - Ma! - Margie - The World Is Waiting For The Sunrise - Ja Da - Alabama Jubilee - Drinking Medley - George M. ONE HOUR WITH YOU 2009  $15

Often at jazz festivals I am asked to perform a solo set and am always delighted to do so. I usually tell the audience that for the next hour or so I’d like to play some of my favorite tunes and hope that they’ll enjoy them as much as I do. The mix always features a heavy dose of Fats Waller, but can also include ragtime and novelty tunes from the vaudeville years. This album reflects material you might hear at one of my solo sets and much of it is recorded by myself here for the first time. I’ve taken the liberty of adding drums here, bass there, even some organ – which I can’t do in a live performance – to keep things fun and interesting.

Living A Ragtime Life / Wild Cherries - I Just Made Up With That Old Girl Of Mine - It Was Just One Of Those Things - If I Could Be With You - Frankie and Johnnie - Honey Hush - Spreadin’ Rhythm Around - You Meet The Nicest People In Your Dreams - Grandpa’s Spells - Jada - I Ain’t Got Nobody - Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out - What A Pretty Miss - My Melancholy Baby - I’m On A Seesaw - Why Do I Lie To Myself About You? - The Oriental Blues (Ernie Kovacs’ Theme Song)

RAY TEMPLIN AT HOME 2006  $15

This album was recorded in my living room. The piano is a Baldwin "M" baby grand which was built in 1942. I love playing this piano and hope you enjoy the selections I've included here. No vocals this time, just some relaxed solo jazz piano played in the comfort of the Templin parlor. Enjoy.

Ray's Neighborhood - I'm Keepin' Out Of Mischief Now - The Japanese Sandman - All By Myself - You Took Advantage Of Me - Tia Juana - Some Of These Days - Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans - Alligator Crawl - Can't We Be Friends - Ain't Misbehavin' - All Of Me - Rosetta - Ray's Solitary Blues - The Song Is Ended - New Orleans - Sweet Lorraine - You Meet The Nicest People In Your Dreams - Gotta Go

SWINGOLOGY 1989  $10

The phonograph at our house got quite a workout over the years. My father was not a player, but he really loved music - particularly music that swings. Me too. Same goes for my friends who you'll hear on this album. This is the happy kind of music I grew up with. We smiled a lot recording these tunes. I hope listening will have the same effect - a bit like growing up at the Templins'.
Bryan Shaw, trumpet - John Jorgenson, clarinet - Lemoyne Taylor, tenor sax - Brian Atkinson, vibraphone - Brad Roth, guitar - Charlie Warren, bass - Ray, piano, drums, vocals. Guests: Art Dragon, Gary Halopoff, Jack Irby, Sal Lozano, Mike Whitman.

Swing, Brother, Swing - Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea - Mean To Me - What A Pretty Miss - On The Sunny Side Of The Street - Swingology - I've Got My Fingers Crossed - Rinnin' Wild - Too Busy - I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me - Jammin' - Someday Sweetheart - 7400 North

Swing Soufflé – Cookin’ For You  2005  $10

This wonderful quintet was the last group Ray performed with at Disneyland before leaving in 2006. Swing Soufflé thrilled audiences five days a week at the French Market and on the street in New Orleans Square. The CD was produced as a souvenir item with a blank panel inside for autographs. Unfortunately, the Park changed its entertainment scheme. Soon the group was gone, and so was Ray. This is basically Ray’s Chicagoans without the guitar and reed. You’ll agree that their sound is much larger than five pieces on these twelve hard-swinging selections. First rate jazz!

Art Dragon, trombone – Brian Atkinson, trumpet – Bob Burstein, bass – Jimmy Ford, drums – Ray, piano

The Fishin’ Hole – Jubilee – Apex Blues – Dinah – Toll Bridge – I Would Do Anything For You – Riverboat Shuffle – Bernie’s Tune – Midnight In Moscow – Vignette – The Best Thing For You – My Little Suede Shoes
